Who Can Apply for Annapurna Bhandar?
The scheme is primarily designed to support women from low-income and economically weaker households in West Bengal. Below are the key criteria you must meet to qualify for the expected ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance.
1. Gender and Residency
- Women Only: Only women residents of West Bengal can apply.
- One Per Family: Typically, one eligible woman per family receives the benefits.
- Permanent Resident: Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal with valid proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Ration Card).
2. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years old.
- Maximum Age: Around 60 years old.
- Note: Women below 18 years do not qualify as they are not legal adults.
3. Income and Financial Status
- Low-Income/EWS: Must belong to an economically weaker section or low-income family.
- Ration Card: Priority given to BPL (Below Poverty Line) or priority ration card holders.
- Ineligible: Families with government employees, high-income earners, large businesses, or pensioners receiving large monthly pensions are generally excluded.
4. Mandatory Documents & Accounts
- Valid Aadhaar card and West Bengal Ration Card.
- An active bank account in the applicant's name, strictly linked to their Aadhaar for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
